President Bush has finally approved a Medal of Honor for the late Woodrow W. Keeble, a member of the Sisseton-Wahpeton Sioux Tribe.
Keeble served in World War II and the Korean War. He received the Purple Heart, the Bronze Star, the Silver Star and the Distinguished Service Cross but never the Medal of Honor, the military's highest honor.
In 2007, Congress authorized the Defense Department to award the medal to Keeble. The 2008 Defense Authorization report also urged approval of the honor and the White House said the ceremony will take place at 2:30pm on Monday, March 3.
