A former council member of the Saginaw Chippewa Tribe has started a website, originalsagchip39.org, in hopes of freeing jailed lobbyist Jack Abramoff.
Delores Jackson and other tribal members don't believe Abramoff defrauded the tribe out of millions of dollars. They say Sen. John McCain (R-Arizona) went after the lobbyist to promote his presidential campaign.
"He was a scapegoat," Jackson told The Mt. Pleasant Morning Sun.
Jackson spoke at Abramoff's sentencing hearing last Thursday.
