Narragansett man testifies about smokeshop raid
A member of the Narragansett Tribe said he was following orders when a Rhode Island trooper broke his ankle during the state's raid of the reservation on July 14, 2003.

Adam Jennings was working at the tribe's smokeshop when troopers stormed the small building on the reservation. He said he did not resist trooper Kenneth Jones, who ended up twisting and breaking his ankle.

Jennings said he warned Jones about a prior injury to his ankle. He said he now has trouble working.

A federal jury previously awarded Jennings $301,000 but the judge who was handling the case granted the state's motion to dismiss. Chief Judge Mary Lisi is now hearing the case.
