The Shoshone-Bannock Tribes signed a gas tax agreement with the state of Idaho on Wednesday.
The tribes will collect the same 25-cents-per-gallon rate as the state. The tribes can use the revenue for transportation programs.
Additionally, the agreement allows the state to collect between $800,000 and $1 million on taxes on diesel fuel sold on the reservation.
The state signed a similar agreement with the Coeur d'Alene Tribe last week and is close to one with the Nez Perce Tribe. The deals come after years of litigation.
