The Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe of South Dakota is trying to find homes for wild horses that were saved from slaughter.
The tribe received 82 horses with the help of the International Society for the Protection of Mustangs and Burros. The goal was to start a conservation and children's program at the tribe's ranch.
But the program never got off the ground and now the tribe and Karen Sussman, the president of the society are trying to find people to adopt the horses. The tribe and Sussman also need donations to feed the herd, which has grown to 300 animals.
