Quinault teen faces involuntary manslaughter charge

A 19-year-old member of the Quinault Nation of Washington faces involuntary manslaughter for a fatal accident that killedtwo teenagers.

Sela Anne Kalama allegedly drove a car into the Elwha River on the Lower Elwha Klallam Reservation. Two teens -- Vanna K. Francis, a 17-year-old member of the Lower Elwha Klallam Tribe, and Ronnie L. Scroggins, a 15-year-old member of the Makah Nation -- died.

Kalama reportedly admitted that she had been drinking on the night of the March 18 incident. But a blood alcohol test found no signs of alcohol in her system. Only some marijuana was detected.

The U.S. Attorney's Office is bringing the case to a grand jury to see if it can indict Kelama.
