Flood damage has closed a popular road to the Cascades in Washington, blocking access to the Sauk-Suiattle Tribe's only two cemeteries.
Suiattle River Road is the only route to the cemeteries. Tribal members also use the road to access traditional medicines, food and ceremonial swimming areas.
James Roberts, a council member, worried about the closure. "If we have a death, how do we get someone back in there? That makes it a big problem," he told The Everett Herald.
The road is heavily trafficked in the summertime as people make their way to the Cascades.
