The Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians in North Carolina is looking into establishing a mail-order pharmacy.
The tribe could import drugs from Canada. "That definitely could go under sovereignty," Chief Michell Hicks told The Charlotte News & Observer
The Cherokees have visited other tribes with similar operations. The Penobscot Nation of Maine and the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation of Connecticut have been selling prescription drugs, though not any imported from Canada.
