Mary Younblood, an Aleut/Seminole flute player, took home her second Grammy award at the 49th annual award ceremony on Sunday night.
Youngblood's "Dance With The Wind" won the Best Native American Music Album category. The release is her fifth on the Silver Wave Records label.
Youngblood previously won a Grammy in 2003 for "Beneath The Raven Moon" and was nominated again in 2005 for "Feed the Fire." She has been won several Native American Music Awards as well.
"Creator has given me this great gift, and I will use that gift to honor Creator and my people," she said in a recent interview, "and that's traditional."
Other nominees this year were: Black Eagle for "Black Eagle: Voice of the Drum,"; Robert Tree Cody for "Heart of the Wind"; Jana for "American Indian Story"; and Northern Cree for "Long Winter Nights."
