A former music teacher at the Onondaga Nation School in New York became upset after a student told her parents she sat in his lap, the girl testified on Thursday.
The girl, who is now 12, said she sat in Albert Scerbo's lap when she was in the third grade. She said Scerbo asked other girls to do the same, often while showing a movie in a dark classroom.
The girl said the incident made her feel uncomfortable so she told her parents. When Scerbo asked her to sit on his lap again, she told him her father said not to. Scerbo became upset, the girl testified.
"He said, 'I told you not to tell your parents,'" the girl said, The Syracuse Post-Standard reported.
Scerbo is accused of sexually abusing and endangering more than a dozen female students. The 12-year-old girl did not make allegations against him.
