Eight members of Congress under investigation

At least eight members of Congress -- six Republicans and two Democrats -- are under federal investigation, according to the Associated Press.

The probes have Republicans worried that they might lose more seats in the House. In 2006, four House Republicans stepped down amid scandal, two went to prison and three lost their bids for re-election.

The biggest GOP concerns center on Rep. John Doolittle (R-California), who once praised the work of convicted lobbyist Jack Abramoff, and Rep. Rick Renzi (R-Arizona), the co-chair of the Congressional Native American Caucus. Both are in danger of losing their seats in 2008.
