The Oglala Lakota College on the Pine Ridge Reservation received a $100,000 grant from the state of South Dakota.
The money will be used to give students hands-on experience in home building. The school's general construction program will buy a home kit that the students will build and sell.
The state's Indian education director is hoping similar projects can be duplicated at other tribal colleges and at high schools.
