Winnebago student wins card design contest

Heron Hargreaves, a member of the Winnebago Tribe of Nebraska, won the grand prize in the 2006 Holiday Card Design Contest sponsored by the Sioux City Lewis & Clark Interpretive Center. Hargreaves is an eighth grade student at St. Augustine Indian Mission, a school on the Winnebago Reservation. He submitted a drawing depicting a traditional Ho-Chunk home. For his winning entry, Hargreaves received uncirculated Sacagawea gold dollar coins, books and educational materials. The center is located in Sioux City, Iowa. Get the Story:
