A fetus was not discovered in a bathroom at Dine College on the Navajo Nation, contrary to prior reports.
The Office of the Medical Investigator said the material found in the trash can was a placenta. The school had initially reported that it was a fetus.
Authorities are trying to find the mother and the newborn. They believe the child was born elsewhere before the placenta was discarded in the bathroom.
