The Lheidli T�enneh First Nation signed a treaty with the British Columbia government on Sunday.

The agreement is the first reached under the province's treaty process. It took more than 15 years of negotiations.

The Lheidli T�enneh will receive more than 4,000 hectares of land and more than $13 million in cash. Tribal members will relinquish their tax-exempt status but have full powers of self-government on their land.
