Two former Navajo Nation chapter officials have failed to publicly apologized for stealing money.
Former Nageezi Chapter President Calvert Garcia admitted to taking more than $24,000 from the chapter. Former Chapter Service Coordinator Samuel Henry admitted to taking more than $20,000.
But when called to account for his actions, Garcia reportedly said, "It is not my fault." Henry didn't even bother to show up to a chapter meeting.
The Navajo Nation could further prosecute the men or turn the case over to federal authorities if they don't meet their end of a deal, a Navajo Nation Council delegate said.
