The Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians reopened its schools and businesses after enduring a water crisis over the past few days.
The tribe shut off the water system twice in response to a gasoline leak. An estimated 1,500 families and 300 businesses went without water as the tribe sought a solution to the problem.
The water stared flowing again on Monday, after the tribe installed two pumps to clean out the system. Some communities are being advised to boil water to remove any bacteria that may have formed during the shutdown.
