Candidates running for office in the Sac and Fox Nation of Oklahoma asked vendors for free services, according to an internal report.
Secretary George Thurman and former treasurer Truman Carter asked Concussion LLC of Texas for free printing services. The firm designed, printed and distributed campaign fliers out of fear he would lose his contract with the tribe's casino.
Owner Allen Wallach said the request was not unusual. He said candidates from other tribes in the area often seek favors.
The investigation was commissioned by the tribe's gaming commission. Tom Bailey, the former editor of the Sac and Fox News, also looked into the charges and submitted his own report to the commission.
