Choctaw man wins election to Oklahoma House


Al McAffrey, a member of the Choctaw Nation, was elected to the Oklahoma State House on Tuesday. McAffrey is a Navy veteran and former Oklahoma City police officer. He is the first openly gay member of the State Legislature.

He beat two Democratic opponents for District 88, which includes downtown Oklahoma City and Bricktown, the city's entertainment district. No Republican filed for the seat.
