The Southern Ute Tribe of Colorado filed two lawsuits on Wednesday over a motorcycle rally that was supposed to take place on the reservation.
The tribe filed one suit in tribal court and the other suit in county court. They accuse the Rally in the Rockies of breach of contract and the owners of a ranch where the rally will take place of interference.
The tribe and the rally had a contract to hold the event at the Sky Ute Center over the Labor Day Weekend. But Dan Bradshaw moved the rally to Echo Basin Ranch because he says the tribe didn't live up to its end of the agreement.
Bradshaw plans to file a countersuit against the tribe. He says the rally will go on as planned.
