Residents of the Standing Rock Sioux Reservation are being asking to limit their water consumption.
The restriction went into place after one of two water pumps at the treatment plant on the reservation went down. The pump is being repaired.
The water is still safe to drink but residents are asked not to use any water outside.
The tribe previously experienced water problems when an intake n Lake Oahe became clogged and left thousands without water for several days.
The reservation spans North Dakota and South Dakota.
