Arrest made in Ute Mountain Ute Reservation murder


Bureau of Indian Affairs officers arrested a man for murdering Felix Hammond, a member of the Ute Mountain Ute Tribe of Colorado.

Hammond was cut and stabbed 21 times with a bayonet. The July 30, 2005, incident took place at a home on the Ute Mountain Ute Reservation.

Charleston Lang was apprehended on Monday and charged with second-degree murder and carrying, brandishing and using a firearm during a crime of violence. He made his first appearance in federal court in Durango yesterday morning.
