Spirit Lake Nation business raided by armed agents

A business owned by the Spirit Lake Nation in North Dakota was raided by armed federal agents on Wednesday, the Associated Press reports.

About 25 to 30 agents went to the offices of Sioux Manufacturing Corp. in Fort Totten, said president and chief executive officer Carl McKay. "It just scared the dickens out of our employees," he told the AP.

The Department of Justice confirmed the raid and said SMC was under investigation for "alleged contract irregularities."

The company has a number of federal contracts and saw revenues top $20 million due to the war in Iraq.
