The annual meeting of the Siouan and Caddoan Language Conference takes place at Rocky Mountain College in Montana this weekend.
About 15 to 20 educators and linguists are expected to attend. The conference includes a trip to Little Big Horn College on the Crow Reservation.
Siouan languages include Crow, Hidatsa and Osage. Caddoan languages include Pawnee and Caddo.
The conference changes locations each year. In 2005, it was hosted by the Kaw Nation in Kansas.
