The Mashpee Wampanoag Tribe of Massachusetts plans to meet with the town of Mashpee to discuss the tribe's pending federal recognition.
Several communities have passed resolutions to support the tribe's case. The town of Mashpee wants to address land, jurisdiction and other issues it considers an endorsement.
The tribe won a preliminary ruling from the Bureau of Indian Affairs in March. A final ruling is to be issued in March 2007.
