Crow Tribe's youth basketball camp a huge success

More than 500 kids signed up for the Crow Tribe's basketball camp, a much higher turnout than expected.

Organizers expected 250 kids from kindergarten through the eighth grade to sign up. More than 420 applications were submitted, plus another 125 that had to be denied because they were submitted too late.

The three-day camp was followed by a 24-hour high school basketball tournament. About 20 teams competed.

The camp and tournament were sponsored by the Crow Tribe and Running Strong for American Indian Youth, the organization of Olympic gold medalist Billy Mills.
