A key Idaho lawmaker says it's not worth the effort to try and resolve a gasoline tax dispute with the state's tribes.
Republican Senator Mike Jorgenson, who sits on the Idaho Council on Indian Affairs, said the money involved is not significant. According to the Associated Press, $3.5 million in fuel taxes is at stake.
The state and federal courts have ruled that the tribes can't be forced to collect the state tax. Attempts to negotiate a solution have been unsuccessful.
