After a major rewrite, "Unto These Hills ... A Retelling," a play about the history of the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians in North Carolina, makes its official debut tonight.
The play was originally written by a non-Indian. But tribal members said it didn't adequately reflect Cherokee culture.
So for its 57th season, "Unto These Hills" features a predominantly Cherokee cast and is told from the Cherokee point of view.
