Police accused of ignoring eagle slaughter

The chief of the Chehalis First Nation in British Columbia said he reported eagle poaching to the Royal Canadian Mounted Police four years ago but nothing was done about it.

Chief Alexander Paul said the RCMP even witnessed some of the poaching. More than 50 were slaughtered on or near reserve land north of Vancouver.

Authorities have since laid charges against 11 men, including three from the Chehalis First Nation. Some of the other men are from the Burrard First Nation.
