A 19-year-old Montana man is on trial for the murder of a homeless man in Billings.
Rusty Lee-Ray Russell is charged with deliberate homicide, aggravated assault, robbery by accountability and aggravated assault by accountability. He was 18 at the time of the April 26, 2005, incident that left one homeless man dead and another wounded.
Brandon Lee Spotted Wolf, 19, was charged for the same incident but he pleaded guilty to deliberate homicide by accountability, aggravated assault and robbery. He is expected to testify against Russell.
Russell plans to admit he was at the scene but that he did not stab the victims. Spotted Wolf will say it was Russell who did the stabbing.
