The American Indian Movement in Colorado and members of the Western Shoshone Nation joined a protest against a mining company.
The protest began outside the headquarters of Newmont Mining Corp. It moved to a hotel where Newmont was holding its annual shareholders meeting.
Western Shoshone elder Carrie Dann called on Newmont to clean up its mining operations on Shoshone land in Nevada. Others accused the company of genocide and destroying the environment.
