Fort Peck Reservation to receive swift foxes
Friday, April 21, 2006

The Fort Peck Reservation will be receiving 10 swift foxes under a project approved by Montana wildlife commissioners.
The Fort Peck Tribes and state officials endorsed the project last year but the commissioners tabled a decision. They finally voted 3-1 yesterday in favor of transplanting the swift fox, a small animal, to the reservation in hopes of expanding the population.
The tribes passed a resolution against hunting the fox.
