Construction is underway on a new $2.7 million wellness center at the United Tribes Technical College in Bismarck, North Dakota, with an opening set for September during the school's International Pow-Wow
The facility will provide a centralized space for a number of wellness programs. Currently, the athletic facilities, counseling, chemical addiction counseling, health services and the dormitory wellness program are spread across campus.
Funding for the center came from a variety of sources, including the Department of Education, the Rural Development at the Department of Agriculture, the Department of Housing and Urban Development and the Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Community in Minnesota.
