The Rosebud Sioux Tribe of South Dakota was recently awarded a $1.8 million contract to test circuit boards for a Defense Department contractor
The Advanced Electronics Rosebud Integration Center will employ 15 to 30 people initially. Tribal officials hope the project will help the tribe increase economic opportunities on the reservation, where unemployment runs as high as 80 percent.
The money for the project was set aside in the defense appropriations bill signed into law last December.
