Five people have already filed papers to run for president of the Navajo Nation.
Incumbent Joe Shirley Jr. hasn't filed his papers yet. But he plans to make an announcement on Saturday. He is serving his first term.
Of the five applicants, the Navajo Nation Election Office has certified Wilbur Nelson Jr. and Ernest Harry Begay. The three others, James Henderson Jr., Hoskie Bryant, and Linda Lovejoy, are awaiting certification.
