An inspection by the Mohegan Tribe and the state of Connecticut of a construction site in Norwich turned up no artifacts of evidence of a tribal settlement.
The tribe and the state archaeologist went to the site after a part-time construction worker said he found artifacts. But since the site is made up of industrial fill, the items likely came from somewhere else.
The worker who reported the items says he is part Mohawk and Mohegan.
