A man from the Pine Ridge Reservation is on trial in federal court on two charges of manslaughter.
Donovan New, 35, is accused of driving drunk and causing the deaths of his father, Charles Theodore New Sr., 63, and his uncle, Conrad R. Warrior, 36. The June 17 accident occurred on the reservation.
As part of his defense, Donovan New plans to question who was driving the car at the time of the accident. No one witnessed the incident.
