A partnership between the University of Arizona and the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation has increased the number of Native American graduate students in the science and engineering field.

In the past three years, the number of Native grad students at the school has grown from 6 to 24. Increases are seen among students seeking their master's and doctoral degrees.

The UA/Sloan Native American Partnership has received $1 million from the Sloan Foundation. UA officials hope the grant will be increased to $1.3 million.
