Man guilty of murder on Fort Peck Reservation

A federal jury deliberated for an hour on Wednesday before finding a 22-year-old guilty of murder on the Fort Peck Reservation in Montana.

Jordan Martell said he wasn't directly involved in the December 12, 2003, killing of Richard Red Dog. Martell, who is physically disabled and blind in one eye, said he didn't handle any of the weapons used to assault and murder Red Dog.

But federal prosecutors said Martell was responsible for the crime. Another man, Jittawee Bear Cub, has been charged with murder and will be going to trial.
