Two land-into-trust notices are published in the Federal Register today.
In the first, the Bureau of Indian Affairs agreed to take 31,000 acres into trust for the Jicarilla Apache Nation of New Mexico. The acquisition has been opposed by local officials, who have 30 days to file a legal challenge.
The second notice is a routine information collection request on 25 CFR part 151 Land
Acquisitions. Comments are due by February 12, 2007.
