The Mohegan Tribe of Connecticut will donate $200,000 a year for five years to the city of Norwich.
The Sachem Fund will be used for economic development and cultural improvement. Groups will be able to apply for loans or grants for a wide range of projects.
The city council is set to approve the fund next month. The money will be available starting July 2007.
