Attorneys for the billion-dollar discrimination case against the U.S. Department of Agriculture are holding a meeting on the Standing Rock Sioux Reservation today.

The meeting in Fort Yates, North Dakota, is designed to obtain information and witnesses as the case goes to trial. The farmers say they suffered systematic discrimination when obtaining loans and services from the USDA.

The judge overseeing the case has said he believes there should be a trial. But depending on the schedule, it could be a year away.
