The Lheidli Tenneh First Nation signed a treaty with the British Columbia government on Sunday.
The agreement is the first reached under the province's treaty process. It took more than 15 years of negotiations.
The Lheidli Tenneh will receive more than 4,000 hectares of land and more than $13 million in cash. Tribal members will relinquish their tax-exempt status but have full powers of self-government on their land.
