The Bureau of Indian Affairs is seeking comments on an information collection request regarding "Gaming on Trust Lands Acquired after October 17, 1988."

The BIA collects information from tribes who "seek a secretarial determination that a gaming establishment would be in the best interest of the tribe and would not be detrimental to the surrounding community," according to the notice. The BIA says it spends an average of 2,000 hours a year collecting and reviewing the information for an average of 2 tribes a year.

All comments about the request should be submitted by December 26, 2006.
