The Standing Rock Sioux Tribe is working with a Virginia company to set up a plant that will make products for the military.
The project will get off the ground with a $2.5 million earmark. The money is being included in the Defense appropriations bill up that passed the House and is expected to pass the Senate by the end of the week.
The tribe and Alion Science and Technology are still working on details of the plant. It will employ about 30 people initially.
