More Indian students enroll at Syracuse University

A new scholarship program for members of the Haudenosaunee nations has led to an increase in Indian student enrollment at Syracuse University in New York.

This year, 45 new Indian students enrolled at SU. That's up from 16 new enrollees last year.

Of the 45 new Indian students, 30 of them are recipients of the scholarship, which covers tuition, on-campus room and board and fees for members of the Oneida, Cayuga, Seneca, Mohawk and Onondaga nations.

Overall, SU has 71 undergraduate Indian students.
