IHS doctor named Indian Physician of the Year


Kelly Moore, a member of the Muscogee Nation of Oklahoma, has been named Indian Physician of the Year by the Association of American Indian Physicians.

Moore, a 1983 graduate of the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine, has been with the Indian Health Service for nearly 20 years. She is considered an expert in diabetes, a disease that has ravaged the American Indian and Alaska Native population.

Moore was presented with the award on August 8, during AAIP's annual conference in St. Paul, Minnesota.
