The United Tribes Technical College in Bismarck, North Dakota, dedicated its new wellness center on Tuesday.
The Lewis Goodhouse Wellness Center will provide services to the 1,100 students and 400 children at the school. The 27,000-square-foot facility was named for Lewis Goodhouse, a former chairman of the Spirit Lake Nation who was one of the signers of UTTC's original charter.
Funding for the $2.7 million center came from a variety of sources, including the Department of Education, the Rural Development at the Department of Agriculture, the Department of Housing and Urban Development and the Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Community in Minnesota.
