Sen. Daniel Inouye (D-Hawaii) has dropped his support for Sen. Joe Lieberman (D-Connecticut).
Inouye campaigned for Lieberman before the Democratic primary. Lieberman narrowly lost the primary to Ned Lamont.
Lieberman is still in the race as an independent but Inouye dropped his support after Lieberman made negative comments about the Democratic party. "After the primary, Senator Inouye was most disappointed and unhappy when Senator Lieberman remarked that the Democratic Party no longer represented the mainstream of America, and that the Democratic Party had lost its values," Inouye said.
