The makers of a video game called "Mohawk Mayhem - Indian Invasion" have apologized after receiving complaints about racism and insensitivity.

The game was created by students in Sweden. Players depicted as cowboys were required to shoot and kill Indian characters who were upset because their ancestors' "dust" was stolen.

When it was posted online, it drew complaints from Native Americans and other users. The students pulled all images, video clips and downloads last week.

"Out of respect to the Mohawks and other native american tribes we are removing the downloadable files from this blog," the Mohawk Mayhem blog (http://mohawkmayhem.blogspot.com) stated.
